All SKOGs are designed in beautiful, sunny Lisbon, following fashion trends, but always having classic and elegant shapes in mind. On top of this, they are all made of sustainable materials such as wood and acetate.
Our wooden collection is handcrafted from Bamboo and hardwoods such as Walnut, Ebony or Zebrawood. This means our sunglasses are organic, renewable and free from harmful or toxic elements. This also means that each pair has a completely unique grain pattern, and no two pairs are identical. Isn’t that awesome?
Wood is not as resistant as acetate, so you should be more careful with your wooden SKOGs (don’t soak them in water, don’t leave them exposed to direct sunlight when you’re not wearing them, for example). But on the other hand, they are light as a feather and that’s the ultimate comfort.
Disclaimer: you can't change lenses on wood frames. So if you want to put prescription lenses on your SKOGs you should opt for acetate models.
Our acetate collection is made from the highest grade cellulose acetate, a high quality material originated from wood pulp and natural cotton fibers. Acetate retains its color brightness impeccably over time because its hue is embedded in the material rather than sprayed on, which also prevents any color peeling. It contains unique aging stabilizers that prevent fading, yellowing or other discoloration from UV light or skin contact.
Every frame is built with hand-guided cutting, and then hand-polished to finish, until they’re just perfect.
